The club committee officers are elected at the annual club AGM. The club committee currently consists of the following elected officers:
John Batchelor (Chairman)
Founder member of Halesowen Tri back in 2009. Served continuously on the committee in a variety of roles.
I have completed over 200 triathlons, from Sprint to Ironman Distance. I have also been a race organiser, am a level 2 coach and currently hold Triathlon England Technical Official of the year. In the past I have served as chair and secretary to West Midlands Triathlon region.
Jane Johnson (Welfare)
I joined the club in 2012, and have completed a number of sprint triathlons as well as taking part in the national championship relays, and as a member of one of the Halesowen Tri women’s relay teams for the Outlaw Half in 2018. As welfare officer for the club, I am responsible for safeguarding, ensuring DBS checks are kept updated and all other welfare issues within the club. Being a teacher has given me a great deal of experience and training in safeguarding and I believe it is important for all of our members to be able to enjoy triathlon safely and without prejudice.
Richard Turvey (Events Co-Ordinator)
As an ex Royal Marine I have always had a keen interest in exercise and fitness. Upon relocating to the area 5 years ago from Devon, I was looking for something that could provide a social and fitness element to my life. It was then that I was introduced to 'Halesowen Tri'. Within the four years that I have been involved in the club I have been, Social secretary, (2015 & 2016) and then Events Co-ordinator (2017 - 2018) Where my main responsibilities are to deliver the running of our Triathlon and Aquathlon each year as well as be involved in committee matters. I also hold and order the club kit which ranges from casual wear of hoodies and hats to essentials of Tri suits and running vests and many more.
Regards competing, I have over my four years competed at all distances of Triathlon from sprints, Olympic, Middle and Full distance, which culminated in completing 'Ironman' Vichy, France, in 2016
I have also completed the London Marathon, after gratefully receiving a club ballot place through the club in 2018
Dawn Wilson-Barraddell (Social)
I have been a member of Halesowen Tri for 4 years & this year will be my third as Social Secretary. Being part of a club is a great way to meet new people & I ensure we have plenty of social meet ups including, food, drinks, themed nights & camping trips, life as part of a Tri club doesn't always have to be about training & competing!
I have a passion for open water swimming having completed several long distance swims, I have also organised & taken part in ladies only Tri relay teams. At HTC we are a welcoming and inclusive club who welcome any ability so come down to say Hi!
Jenna Turvey (Treasurer)
I currently work as a self employed baker of all things sweet. So you will generally see me at the home events behind the cake stall. However previously I worked as a Management Accountant and Finance Manager where I gained my AAT and CIMA qualifications.
I undertake the role of treasurer on the committee for the club, looking after all finances and book keeping tasks. If there are any queries regarding payments of any kind then I will be able to help.
Neil Smith (Communications)
I joined the club in January 2014 after enjoying several other sports, and undertook my first sprint triathlon in April 2014. Since then i have completed various distances ranging from Sprint all the way through to middle distance, with the intention to complete a full distance in the future.
As communications officer for the club, I am responsible for the club website, social media accounts, press releases, event promotions and anything else that is digital or printed! I do this with the help of a team of other club members.
As a club we adhere to the BTF Code of Conduct for Club Officials and Volunteers which can be found here...
