Jane Johnson (Welfare)
Jane joined the club in 2012, and has completed a number of sprint triathlons as well as taking part in the national championship relays, and as a member of one of the Halesowen Tri women’s relay teams for the Outlaw Half in 2018. As welfare officer for the club, she is responsible for safeguarding, ensuring DBS checks are kept updated and all other welfare issues within the club. Being a teacher has given her a great deal of experience and training in safeguarding and she believes it is important for all of our members to be able to enjoy triathlon safely and without prejudice.

John Batchelor (Events Co-Ordinator)

Founder member of Halesowen Tri back in 2009. Served continuously on the committee in a variety of roles.

Dawn Wilson-Barraddell / Catherine Wickenden (Social)

Dawn has been a member of Halesowen Tri since 2015 and has a passion for open water swimming. and has completed several long distance swims. She have also organised & taken part in ladies only Tri relay teams.

Catherine has been a member of HTC since 2014 and has participated in around 20 triathlons ranging from sprint distance, Olympic and 70.3 distance ( half iron). She has also participated in the relays 4 times and the ladies road relays. Catherine also has two active, sporting boys in HTC juniors. She works full time on shifts too, so she recognises it’s difficult to juggle the kids and participate in all training sessions. Having knowledge of the sport herself, she can be a good influence and guidance for parents involved in the club.
Dawn and Catherine ensure that as a club, we have plenty of social meet ups including, food, drinks, themed nights & camping trips, to ensure the club can continue to be as welcoming and as enjoyable as possible to existing and any new members and encourage the work hard, play hard attitude us triathletes stand by! Being part of a Tri club doesn't always have to be about training & competing!

Neil Smith/Joshua Beardsmore (Communications)
Neil joined the club in January 2014 after enjoying several other sports, and undertook his first sprint triathlon in April 2014. Since then he has completed various race distances ranging from sprint all the way through to middle distance, with the intention to complete a full distance in the future.

Josh has been taking part in Triathlon since 2012 and became a member of Halesowen Tri shortly after, where the club has helped him over the years to try his hand at various distances from Super Sprint to Half Ironman.

As joint communications officers, Neil and Josh are responsible for the club website, social media accounts, press releases, event promotions and anything else that is digital or printed!
